Two arrested after pointing gun at another motorist

Two people were arrested in southern Laurel County Friday after one of them pulled a gun an threatened another motorist with it.
According to Laurel County Sheriff John Root, Deputy Kirk Mays was on routine patrol at 1:30 a.m. Friday morning when he was flagged down by an employee of Walmart off U.S. 25E in Corbin. The employee told Mays they had observed a woman get out of a silver Chevrolet S-10 pickup and point a pistol at another person in another vehicle.
Mays located the S-10 and conducted in investigation. A 9mm Ruger semi-automatic pistol was located under the seat. The driver off the vehicle, 39-year-old Garrett L. Brown, of Dewitt, was determined to be under the influence and was arrested. He was charged with DUI, reckless driving, driving on a suspended license and possession of a handgun by a convicted felon.
His passenger, 38-year-old Paula Jackson, of Corbin, was also arrested and charged with public intoxication and carrying a concealed weapon. Both were lodged in the Laurel County Detention Center.
