Two airlifted from scene after motorcycle rear ends bucket truck
Two people were airlifted from the scene after a motorcycle rear-ended a bucket truck in Keavy Sunday morning.
Officials were called to the scene on Ky. 312 near the Bait Bucket store where the rider, identified as 45-year-old Adam Gregory, and the passenger, identified as 41-year-old Tiah Ferguson, had been ejected following the collision.
Officials said the Gregory and Ferguson were both taken by ambulance to a field on Level Green Road where helicopters were landed.
They were both flown to the University of Kentucky Medical Center.
Deputy Gilbert Acciardo, the department’s public affairs officer, said the motorcycle struck the truck that was turning into the parking lot of the Bait Bucket.
The driver, identified as 51-year-old Eddie Day, reported no injuries.
Traffic on Ky. 312 in both directions, along with traffic on Level Green and Cotton Road was halted as emergency personnel worked to clear the scene.
Laurel County Sheriff’s deputies are investigating the wreck. Keavy Fire Department and Ambulance Inc. of Laurel County also responded to the scene.
