Tuesday Volleyball Results – 10/20/15

As reported in the 10/21 edition of The News Journal, the Corbin Lady Redhounds volleyball team was scheduled to host South Laurel Tuesday night, October 20, with this year’s 50^th District championship on the line.

It was a very competitive contest, but the Lady Hounds fell in the end 3-2 (25-13, 24-26, 25-23, 23-25, 15-8). Corbin (14-15) will now shift their focus to the 2015 13^th Region tournament, which will be held at South Laurel High School next week.

Also Tuesday, the Whitley County Lady Colonels and the Lynn Camp Lady Wildcats squared off to see who would advance in the 51^st District tournament, and who would see their 2015 season come to an end.

The Lady Colonels won the match in three straight sets (25-13, 25-7, 25-21), improving their season record to 16-20 and ensuring a spot for themselves in next week’s 13^th Region tournament. They will play Knox Central on Wednesday, October 21 in the 51^st District finals. Results from that contest will be posted online as soon as they become available.

Lynn Camp ended their season Tuesday with an overall record of 8-10.
