Tuesday Highlights
Turnovers in the final seconds of overtime proved to be costly as the Cawood Trojans held off the Corbin Redhounds, 68-65 Tuesday night at Cawood.
Leading 65-62 with :50 seconds left the Redhounds turned the ball over two times in a row and Derrek Watkins made Corbin pay. Watkins pulled the Trojans within 65-64 with :46 left then stole the ball and put the host ahead 66-65.
A travel by senior Ryan Tate with :19 turned the ball back over to Cawood. Watkins was fouled and sank two free throws with :12 on the clock for a 68-65 margin.
Josh Crawford took a last second three pointer that went win and out.
Crawford led all scorers with 27 points while senior Kyle French added 24 points for the Redhounds.
Joe Brock, who had six three point goals, led the Trojans with 21 points.
Watkins tossed in 19 points including the final six points of the game.
Cawood led for much of the game, taking a 14-8 lead in the first quarter, but Crawford and senior Kyle French got hot and pushed the Redhounds ahead at the half, 29-28 by outscoring the Trojans 21-14.
Crawford had 14 first half points to lead the Redhounds.
It was Corbin holding onto the lead for most of the second half. The Redhounds led 47-42 at the end of the third quarter thanks to back to back Crawford baskets.
However, the Trojans charged back at the start of the fourth quarter and took a 51-47 lead with a 9-0 run.
Brock and Watkins hit three long shots in a row.
Corbin refused to quit and came back to tie the game, 55-55. Each team committed a turnover in the final seconds, resulting in the overtime period.
The Redhounds will host Knoxville Catholic Friday.

Barbourville 73, Williamsburg 25
•Barbourville rolled to a 73-25 win over the Williamsburg Yellow Jackets at Williamsburg.
Chris Good led the Tigers with 19 points on three three-pointers as Barbourville bolted out to a 29-4 lead. The Tigers never looked back after gaining the big lead.
Barbourville led at the half, 40-11 after going on a 31-0 and taking a 40-4 lead in the game.
Williamsburg closed out the second quarter with a 7-0 run. James Williams, Aaron Cunningham and T.J. Hurst scored for the Yellow Jackets.
The Tigers led 56-17 at the end of three quarters. Barbourville ended the game with a 17-8 run in the final period.

South Laurel 101, Whitley County 39
•South Laurel raced out to a 22-6 lead in the first quarter and led 55-24 at the half then went on to a post a 101-39 win over the Whitley County Colonels Tuesday night at WCHS.
Freshman Cody Jones paced the Colonels in scoring with 10 points.
Jordan Hammons led the Cardinals with 20 points, 12 of which came in the first half off four three pointers.
Walt Allen added 17 points while Trey Smith (14), Ty Proffitt (13) and Chris Riley (11) added double figure points.
Whitley County, who drops to 1-2 on the season will be at Barbourville Saturday night.
