Tri-County Elks Lodge donates to White Flag Ministry
Travis McDonald, of the Tri-County Elks Lodge #2826, recently presented a $2,500 check to Paul Sims, Minister of Music and Worship, and Alex Lockridge, Senior Pastor, of Corbin’s First Baptist Church.
Both Sims and Lockridge accepted the gift as representatives for the White Flag Ministry.
The White Flag Ministry provides sheltering and meal service to community members in need. Donations are essential to sustain the work being done by volunteers and the White Flag Leadership Team.
Members of the Tri-County Elks Lodge are committed to supporting programs and organizations that fund efforts that improve the quality of life for members of the local Elks community, and the White Flag Ministry is one of those programs working to positively impact unhoused families.
This gift was made possible through Elks National Foundation Community Investments Program (CIP). The CIP Gratitude Grant invests $9.77 million in Elks communities across the country. The Tri-County Elks Lodge was one of 16 Kentucky Elks lodges receiving funds to support local, charitable activities.
The mission of the Tri-County Elks Lodge and the Benevolent and Protective Order of the Elks of the United States of America is to serve people and communities by supporting charitable efforts.
“Our partnership with the White Flag Ministry is just one example of how the Tri-County Elks Lodge gives back to the local community,” Elks officials wrote in a release.
