Trespassing complaint leads Laurel deputies to Keavy woman wanted in three counties

A trespassing complaint Sunday night led to the discovery of assorted drug paraphernalia and the arrest of a Keavy woman on numerous warrants out of three counties.

Laurel County Sheriff deputies arrested Olympia C. Vann, 38, on the warrants out of Knox, Laurel and Whitley counties and drug-related charges.

Deputy Gilbert Acciardo, the department’s public affairs officer, said deputies responded to the the apartment complex off off American Greeting Card Road about 10:05 p.m. after Billy Jones, 30 of, Gray, who had previously been warned by the apartment manager not to be back on the property was found to be at one of the apartments.

As a result, he was charged with third-degree criminal trespassing.

Inside the apartment where they located Jones, Acciardo said deputies located scales, a spoon with white residue, burnt aluminum foil, syringes, and snort tubes.

The female, later identified as Vann, reportedly gave deputies numerous fictious names before, with the assistance of the Laurel County Correctional Center, they were able to positively identify her, determining she had outstanding warrants.

Vann was charged with three counts of giving an officer false identifying information, first-degree possession of a controlled substance – methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia.

In addition, Vann was served with a bench warrant out of Knox County, charging her with failure to appear in court on charges of possession of drug paraphernalia, second-degree possession of a controlled substance and giving an officer false identifying information. A second bench warrant out of Whitley County charges Vann with failure to appear in court on traffic violations. A third warrant out of Laurel County charges Vann with failure to appear in court on numerous traffic violations.

Vann and Jones were both lodged in the Laurel County Correctional Facility.
