Tom Goodin
Tom Goodin, age 93, of Laurel Lake Resort Road in Corbin, Kentucky departed this life on Wednesday, August 11, 2021 at his home. He was born on February 2, 1928 in McCreary County, Kentucky to the late Wesley and Ethel (Perry) Goodin. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, John Goodin; step-daughter, Brenda Coomer; sisters, Christleen DeMichael, Virginia Mechlem, and Wanda Polson; and brother, Jerry Goodin.
He was a Korean War Veteran Serving in the Army, a member of Frankfort Baptist Church, worked in the coal mines in Harlan for seven years, worked in log woods, worked at General Motors in Ohio for 30 years, he loved to hunt and hunted up to age of 92, and loved flea markets.
He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Wanda (Richardson) Goodin of Corbin; children, Bob Goodin (Patricia) of Corbin and Betty Kidman of Florida; ten grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren; special grandson, Clinton Goodin who he looked forward to his daily calls from and rabbit hunting with Clinton and great grandson, Jeremiah; brother, Clarence “Bud” Goodin of Mt. Victory, Kentucky; sisters, Jean Gilbert of Harlan, Kentucky and Megan Warren of Cape Coral, Florida; special friends, Eli Broughton, who he worked and hunted with for over 30 years and Blaine Cox who he rabbit hunted with; several nieces and nephews and a host of other family and friends to mourn his passing.
Visitation will be from 11:00 AM until the Funeral hour on Monday August 16, 2021 at the Croley Funeral Home.
Funeral Service will be at 1:00 PM on Monday, August 16, 2021 at the Croley Funeral Home with Rev. James Hodge and Rev. Bob Goodin officiating. He will be laid to rest in the Mill Creek Cemetery at Sawyer, Kentucky. Military Graveside honors will be conducted by the Sterns American Legion.
