ThriveKY roadshow making stop in Williamsburg on July 16
Next Tuesday, July 16, a good learning and networking opportunity is scheduled to take place at the Whitley County Cooperative Extension Office in Goldbug when the Kentucky Voices for Health nonprofit coalition presents its ThriveKY “Advocacy for Thriving Communities” roadshow.
According to the event webpage, which can be accessed by visiting www.kyvoicesforhealth.org, the day’s programming will cover such topics as the economy, Medicaid, KCHIP, SNAP, housing, transportation, child care, public health, behavioral health and suicide prevention. Organizers are encouraging community leaders to attend, including healthcare providers, social workers, educators, faith leaders, nonprofit representatives, and anyone else who might want to learn about ways to better serve their cities, counties and/or neighborhoods.
Next week’s stop in Williamsburg is one of seven for the ThriveKY roadshow, with events having already been held in Frankfort and Pikeville earlier this year. Other stops on the calendar include Murray on Aug. 13, Glasgow on Sept. 10, Covington on Oct. 8 and Louisville on Nov. 19. Admission is free, and tickets for the Williamsburg session can be reserved online at www.tickettailor.com/events/thriveky/1209910.
The July 16 session is scheduled to get underway at 1 p.m. and last until about 4 p.m. Attendees are asked to arrive 10-15 minutes early if possible.
