Three injured in Tuesday crashes
Kentucky State Police dealt with two single vehicle crashes yesterday. Three people were injured and alcohol may be factor in one of the wrecks.
The first wreck happened on I-75. Donna R. Majewski, 37, of Temperance, MI was traveling southbound on I-75 in a black 2003, Jeep Liberty when the vehicle overturned on the right should of the road. Majewski was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash. The passenger, a 16-month-old male juvenile, was properly secured in a safety seat. Both were transported to Baptist Regional Medical Center for treatment, but no major injuries are suspected.
The second wreck occurred on Hwy. 62. Police say a single-vehicle crash near Corbin injured one local man, and alcohol was likely a factor.
Donnie Grubb, 54, was involved in a single vehicle crash yesterday near the junction of KY Hwy. 26 and Route 6.
An open container of Jim Beam whiskey was found in the floorboard of the driver’s seat at the time of the crash. According to Kentucky State Police Trooper Scott Bunch, Grubb was driving north on Hwy. 26 at a high rate of speed in a mid 1990s model Mercury Sable when he lost control of his vehicle. Police say he veered into the northbound ditch, came back out, crossed the centerline and ended up in the southbound ditch.
Grubb was unconscious when he was removed from the vehicle by emergency workers and was taken to Baptist Regional Medical Center for treatment.
Kentucky State Police Trooper Mike Witt assisted Bunch at the scene.
