Thirty drug trafficking indictments handed down in Whitley County
A Whitley County Grand Jury recently handed down 30 felony drug trafficking indictments and a misdemeanor drug trafficking indictment against two people as a result of a nearly year long investigation by the Whitley County Sheriff’s Department.
In addition, the Whitley County Grand Jury indicted two other people for felony drug possession in connection with the investigation.
An analysis of the indictments indicates that confidential informants for the sheriff’s department spent $1,073 purchasing 18 suboxone films or strips, two suboxone tablets, 13 oxycodone, one subtex strip or film, six dextroamphetamine, 2.5 amphetamine, one morphine pill, two buspirone, six methadone, 14 hydrocodone and three quantities of methamphetamine as a result of the investigation by Deputies Kirk Mays and Tim Baker.
In addition, deputies seized 10 oxycodone, 18 xanax, four hydrocodone and one Bryco .380 handgun as a result of the investigation.
According to the grand jury report the following people were indicted on April 7:
• Leann Perkins, 28, of 1660 Old Corbin Pike – second-degree trafficking in a controlled substance.
• Christopher Rogers, 29, of 1660 Old Corbin Pike – second-degree trafficking in a controlled substance and second-degree persistent felony offender. Rogers was convicted of theft by deception over $300 on Sept. 6, 2006, in Whitley County.
• Kenneth Barnhill, 47, of Parks Apartments, Williamsburg – first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance.
• Wendy Jones, 34, of Parks Apartments, Williamsburg – first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance.
• William Hubbard, 43, of 2 Prospect Lane, Gray – second-degree trafficking in a controlled substance.
• Selena Moore, 26, of 513 Whipporwill Road, Corbin – second-degree trafficking in a controlled substance.
• Billy Lawson, 24, of 513 Whipporwill Road, Corbin – second-degree trafficking in a controlled substance.
• Stephen Bennett, 38, of Old Napa Apartments, Williamsburg – second-degree trafficking in a controlled substance.
• Melinda Caddell, 40, of Old Napa Apartments, Williamsburg – second-degree trafficking in a controlled substance.
• Samuel Aday, 52, of 2127 River Road, Williamsburg – first-degree possession of a controlled substance, third-degree possession of a controlled substance and operating a motor vehicle while under the influence.
• Anthony McCullah, 45, of 115 First Street, Williamsburg – first-degree, second-degree and third-degree possession of a controlled substance and carrying a concealed deadly weapon.
• John Morris, 27, of Mt. Morgan Apartments – first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance.
• Roy Carr, 40, of Mt. Morgan Apartments – first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance and first-degree persistent felony offender. Carr has prior felony convictions for theft and trafficking in a controlled substance in Whitley County.
• Gregory Dople, 41, of Mt. Morgan Apartments – first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance.
• Michael Rickett, 31, of Mt. Morgan Apartments – first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance.
• Sherman Lawson, 54, of Pete Walters Road, Williamsburg – first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance.
• Tamara Campbell, 28, of 756 Jacks Fork Road, Williamsburg – first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance.
• Jackie Sulfridge, 38, of Oak Ridge Church Road, Williamsburg – first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance and second-degree persistent felony offender. Sulfridge has a 2008 felony conviction for wanton endangerment in Whitley County.
• James Setser, 29, of Whitley County Detention Center – first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance and first-degree persistent felony offender. Setser has prior felony convictions for trafficking in a controlled substance and theft.
• David Mitchell, 28, of Mt. Morgan Apartments – second-degree trafficking in a controlled substance.
• Brooks Moses, 29, of 5685 Red Bird Road, Williamsburg – two counts of second-degree trafficking in a controlled substance.
• Chris Dople, 43, of 581 Mt. Morgan Apartments – second-degree trafficking in a controlled substance.
• Dustin Sumner, 33, of 661 New Zion Road, Williamsburg – second-degree trafficking in a controlled substance.
• Bobbie Anderson, 27, of 611 Brush Arbor Road – second-degree trafficking in a controlled substance.
• Billie Satterfield, 40, of Old Mountain Ash Pike – second-degree trafficking in a controlled substance and first-degree persistent felony offender. Satterfield has prior felony convictions for possession of a forged instrument and trafficking in a controlled substance.
• Ronald Anderson, 27, of 12526 Highway 92E, Williamsburg – second-degree trafficking in a controlled substance.
• Laci Gardner, 24, of Stoney Fork Road – second-degree trafficking in a controlled substance.
• James Lee, 37, of Letha Petrey Road – second-degree trafficking in a controlled substance.
• James Bennett, 40, of Youngs Cemetery Road – second-degree trafficking in a controlled substance.
• Brian Archer, 48, of 395 Ainer Jackson Road, Corbin – second-degree trafficking in a controlled substance.
• Lois Maxwell, 41, of Youngs Cemetery Road – second-degree trafficking in a controlled substance and second-degree persistent felony offender. Maxwell has a prior felony conviction for trafficking in a controlled substance in Laurel County.
• Billy Jones, 38, of Highland Park – second-degree trafficking in a controlled substance.
In addition, the grand jury returned one misdemeanor indictment charging Billy Jones, 38, of Highland Avenue, Williamsburg, and William Sulfridge, 20, of 1000 S. US25W, Williamsburg – with first-offense trafficking in a simulated controlled substance.

Mr. Sheriff what’s wrong with you? You are running for Sheriff again and making drug arrests.
You will never get elected again if you keep drugs off the streets in Whitley County. Mr. Sheriff you have made more drug arrests in two days than our last sheriff made in 8 years. Mr. Sheriff you mean my grandchildren are not going to get the chance to die from an overdose? Mr. Sheriff stop this now are you’ll never be reelected Sheriff of Whitley County again. WE the voters here in Whitley don’t need good law enforcement. We need better drugs!
