Taking a moment to say ‘thank you’ to the advertisers who believe in the News Journal
This week I wanted to write a special column specifically addressing all of those businesses or individuals that have chosen to advertise in our newspaper, either in the past, currently or in the future.
First of all, let me say “thank you.” Due mostly to your generous support, our publication is able to inform thousands of readers each week on the latest news from Corbin, Williamsburg and surrounding areas.
Thanks to your advertising dollars, we can provide people the information they need to know most about our area. That includes, but is not limited to: crime alerts, fire and medical emergencies, special events, sports, local government, church announcements, important developments in local school systems, obituaries, court records, help wanted ads, for sale notices, special interest stories and opinion pieces.
With us, you really are more than just an advertiser. You are a sponsor promoting the importance of living in a well-informed community. You are showing readers what services and/or goods you are providing, true, but you are also showing them that you understand the value of the services that WE offer as YOUR hometown newspaper.
I want you to know that, with us, you are getting the most bang for your buck. As the most widely circulated publication in our coverage area, we continue to proudly serve as the official newspaper of record in Whitley County. This, in addition to a strong digital presence through our website, thenewsjournal.net, and various social media accounts means that we have the ability to reach more people than anyone else in and around Corbin and Williamsburg.
So, in short, when you help us put this paper on the shelves and in the racks each week, we help you get your message out more effectively than anyone else can. It’s a win-win situation for us, for you and for the consumer.
I don’t say all of this to brag, but rather to point out to all past, present and future advertisers that, when you appear in the News Journal, you are doing much more than simply placing an ad. We couldn’t do what we do without you, and without us there would be a whole bunch of people out there who simply could not stay as informed as they would like.
