SWEET 16 – BOUND

Corbin defended its 13th Region Soccer title Wednesday night with a 2-1 win over the OBI Mountaineers. A goal by Lucas Canineu with just under 10 minutes left in the game securred a spot in the state tournament. Corbin will play the winner of the 16th Region game between Ashland and Boyd County to be played Thursday night.

Corbin grabbed the lead in the first half on a goal by Tulio Canineu after he was tripped in the box. He scored on the penalty kick, giving the Redhounds a 1-0 lead. OBI came back to tie the score on a goal by Itune Liwani with 20 minutes left in the game.

The teams battled tooth and nail, until Canineu got the winning goal.
