Sheriff’s deputies recover stolen car, 4-wheeler in separate cases
The Whitley County Sheriff’s Department recently recovered a stolen ATV from Bell County and a stolen car from Georgia in separate cases, according to news releases.
On April 4, Deputy Brandon Prewitt recovered a 2011 Honda ATV that was entered as stolen, and located the vehicle at 16197 Highway 92E.
Prewitt arrested Tina R. King, 47, of Williamsburg, charging her with receiving stolen property under $10,000. Prewitt also served her with an arrest warrant for non-payment of fines in an unconnected case.
Deputy John Hill assisted with the investigation.
On March 26, Hill recovered a stolen Toyota Camry on Whetstone Road.
The Rossville Police Department had entered it as stolen.
The sheriff’s department is still investigating the case.
Prewitt and Kentucky State Police Trooper Donnie Jones assisted with the investigation.
In an unconnected case, the sheriff’s department also recently arrested a Williamsburg man on a drug-related charge.
On March 27, Sgt. Jonas Saunders arrested Martin A. Canada, 45, of Patrick Hollow Road, on Ova Lane and charged him with first-degree possession of a controlled substance and non-payment of fines, according to the release.
Canada was lodged in the Whitley County Detention Center, and released from that facility on April 1, according to the jail’s website.
