Search for intoxicated driver ends in crash
In their search for an intoxicated driver Tuesday night, Corbin Police found him in his vehicle after it wrecked on the Falls Highway near the Interstate 75 interchange.
According to Corbin Police Public Affairs Officer Maj. Rob Jones, about 7:15 p.m., officers began looking for the vehicle after receiving a call of an intoxicated driver coming off I-75 at exit 25. Follow-up reports indicated the driver had wreck and the driver was entrapped.
Patrolman Jeff Hill arrived on the scene and the Corbin Fire Department was called to extricate the driver, later identified as Alexander Moyer, 22, of Phenix City, Ala.
Moyer was taken by ambulance to Baptist Regional Medical Center and then airlifted to the University of Kentucky Medical Center.
Jones stated that Moyer consented to a blood test.
Hill has charged him with driving under the influence of alcohol/drugs and failure to wear a seat belt.
