Scott Dewayne Cox

Scott Dewayne Cox, 50, of 68 Green Hill Road, Whitley City, departed this life on Sunday,  December 3, 2017 at the Baptist Health in Corbin.

He was born on June 17, 1967 in Jellico, TN to Junior Cox and Nina Vega Alsip.

He was preceded in death by his father, Junior Cox and grandchild, Angel Grace Cox.

He is survived by wife, Lisa Wood Cox of Whitley City; four children, Stacey Woods (Garett), Ashley Cox, Tiffany Cox, and Jeffrey Cox, all of Corbin; three step-children, Anna Cox of Russell Springs, Brittany Cox of Lawrenceville, GA, and Samantha Cox of Whitley City; twelve grandchildren, Hannah, Ethan, Madison, Presley, Jaxon, Gage, Faith, Kinzley, Dra, Peyton, Raelynn, and Kaden; mother, Nina Vega (Jeses) of Doraville, GA; two sisters, Elizabeth Harvey (wife Heather) of Auburn, GA and Sherry Sumner of Whitley City; two brothers, Joe Cox (Sherry) of Auburn, GA and Richard Hamby of Speedwill, TN; special niece and nephew, Felica and Maegan; several nieces and nephews; and a host of other family and friends to mourn his passing.

Funeral services were held Thursday, December 7, at the Croley Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Darrell Bryant and Rev. Dillard Bryant officiating.

Following the service he was laid to rest in the New Liberty Cemetery.
