RV and boat show coming to The Corbin Arena
Corbin Tourism has joined forces with Wildcat RV in Corbin to organize the inaugural Wildcat RV and Boat Show at The Arena in Corbin Feb 18-20.
“They called me and asked if we would be interested in partnering with them,” said Corbin Tourism Director Maggy Monhollen of how the idea began.
Monhollen said that while the event is billed as an RV and boat show, it will feature a variety of vendors selling outdoor items, providing information about outdoor opportunities across Eastern Kentucky and multiple other products.
“We have about 20 vendors already,” Monhollen said noting that they include a boutique selling clothing, homemade soap from Soap Made Simply and J&K Kingdom Carvers selling chainsaw carvings.
The tourism agencies that have already signed up to participate include Rockastle County, Presentonsburg and the Kentucky Wildlands, which promotes 54 counties in Eastern Kentucky, including Whitley County.
J&K is scheduled to perform chainsaw carving demonstrations from 11 a.m. until 5 p.m. on Saturday.
In addition, Kentucky Bass Nation will be doing seminars
“The focus is RV’s and boats but it is an opportunity for families to get out,” Monhollen said adding that there will be games for children.
Space is still available for vendors interested in participating.
A ten-by-ten space is $200 while a 10-by-20 space is $400 for the three days.
Anyone interested in being a vendor may contact the Corbin Tourism Office at 528-8860.
The show will run from noon until 9 p.m. on Friday, 9 a.m. until 9 p.m. on Saturday and 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. on Sunday.
Admission is $5 per person with kids ages 12 and under admitted free.
