Knox County Sheriff’s deputies moving through the Gray area during Tuesday morning’s drug roundup appears to have been the cause of rumors that the Gray Post Office had been robbed.
While Chief Deputy Derek Eubanks confirmed it was just a rumor, Lynn Camp High School went on lockdown for about 30 minutes, as a result.
After receiving multiple calls about noon, Sheriff John Pickard and one of his deputies responded to the post office, but found nothing out of the ordinary.
The school went on lockdown about 12:50 p.m. and was back to normal by 1:25, school system officials stated.
