Roy Edward Allen

Roy Edward Allen, 80, of Corbin, passed away Saturday, March 4, 2017 at Baptist Health Corbin surrounded by family.

He was born July 10, 1936 in Morley, TN.  He was preceded in death by his father James E. Allen, mother Otie G. (Sulfridge) Allen, sister Iva E. Simmons, and brother Eulice Gene Allen.

He loved working with his hands, whether it was building something with wood or cooking for family and friends.  He also loved county music as well as playing poker and BINGO.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Mary Jane (Harmon) Allen, his brother Cecil E. (Becky) Allen, his children Richard E. (Lori) Allen, Michael R. Allen, Patricia A. Allen, Vickie L. (Les) Maier and Steve J. (Dawn) Allen, nine grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, and his loyal dog Miles.

A private celebration of his life will be held at a later date.
