Rosetta Mae Tye Cooper
Rosetta Mae Tye Cooper, 93 years and four days of age, of Keswick Road, went to be with the Lord on March 26, 2017.
She was born on March 22, 1924 in Williamsburg, to the late Marshall “Monk” Tye and Effie Rose Tye.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Cooper; a son, Kenneth Ray Cooper; and three sisters, Lena Spann, Ruby Hatfield and Alice Hurst.
Rosetta was a member of Boston Baptist Church since 1962.
She is survived by her eight children, Gary (Crystal) Cooper of Williamsburg, Barbara Gail Lay of Newcomb, Sherry (James) Cox of Brunswick, ME, Wanda (Jim) Capps of Keswick, Pam (Jeff) Siler of Saxton, Roger Cooper of Keswick, Russell Cooper of Keswick, and Ellen (Lewis) Davis of Saxton; two daughters-in-laws, Gail Cooper Thacker of Pine Knot and Sherrill Cooper of Williamsburg; 19 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; six sisters, Mildred Smith, Gladys Smith, Gertie Campbell, Nellie Gillian, Orpha Jackson and Jewell Holloway; and a host of other family and friends to mourn her passing.
The funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, March 29, at the Croley Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Woody Jackson officiating.
She will be laid to rest in the Lot Cemetery.
