Richard Wayne Hamlin
Richard Wayne Hamlin, age 74, passed away on Friday, August 20, 2021 at his home in McDonough, Georgia. Richard is preceded in death by his parents, Audrey and Mildred Bowling Hamlin of Corbin, Kentucky, as well as his brothers, John Hamlin of Dothan, Alabama and Doug Hamlin of Corbin, Kentucky.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Dr. Karen Carnes-Hamlin of McDonough; a special step-daughter, Krista Stuckey of McDonough; a loving step-granddaughter, Reagan Rogers of Tampa, Florida; and his sister-in-law, Carol Hamlin of Dothan, Alabama.
For more than 28 years, Richard was a teacher, principal and Director of Transportation for the Fayette County Schools in Lexington, Kentucky. He was an avid sports fan and followed the Corbin Redhounds as well as the University of Kentucky Wildcats with enthusiasm. Richard leaves behind a host of close friends, most notably the “Corbin Boys”.
