Rev. Sam B. Smith

Rev. Sam B. Smith, 85, passed away on Monday, May 14, 2018 at his home in Corbin, surrounded by his family.

Sam was born in Jenson, to the late Irvin and Sudie Smith.

A graduate of Cumberland College, he was an ordained Baptist Minister and pastored many churches in the local area.

Sam was also a US Army Veteran having served in Korea.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a grandson, Timothy David Smith; and by his sisters, Dorothy Boyne and Betty Mullersman.

Sam is survived by his wife, Rita Sue Grace Smith; Son, Doron Smith and wife Sheila; Grandchildren, Carissa, Katherine, Melody, and Matthew Smith; Sisters, Rae Woody and Arlene Huxtable; and by several Nieces and Nephews.

Funeral service was held Friday, May 18, at Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home.

Burial was in the Gray Cemetery with military honors.

Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
