Retha Meadors

Retha Meadors, age 94, of Williamsburg, KY, passed away Monday, January 15, 2024 at McCreary County Health and Rehabilitation Center.
She was born January 10, 1930 in Whitley County, KY to the late Benjamin D. and Cora Adkins Chinn. Along with her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Homer Scott Meadors; daughter, Ann Mary Meadors Baird; grandson, Jeffrey Scott Meadors; her brothers and sisters, Jim Chinn, Nellie Chinn Jones, Thurman Chinn, Alice Chinn Stephens, Anna Chinn Prewitt, Lvena Chinn Trammell, Almer Chinn, Rosie Chinn, Edd Chinn, Earl Chinn, Elmer Chinn, Martha Chinn Watkins, Mary Chinn Gilreath, Homer Chinn, Wilbert Chinn, and Charley Chinn.
Retha was a long-time member of Jellico Creek Baptist Church where her father Benjamin Chinn served as a deacon. She served as a Sunday School teacher and was active in the Jellico Creek Church Ladies Group. She loved her family, church, making quilts for her family, gardening, and fishing.
She is survived by her sons, Donald Carl Meadors (Emily), George Meadors; son-in-law, Gary Baird; three granddaughters, Carrie Baird Jones (Mark), Regina Baird, and Andrea Meadors Tackett; nine great-grandchildren, Rachel Meadors Adams (Caleb), Amber Renee Meadors, Benjamin Baird, Hannah Baird, Eli Jones, Emry Jones, Enoch Jones, Freya Tackett, and Anya Tackett; several nieces, nephews, and a host of relatives and friends to mourn her passing.
Funeral service was Sunday, January 21, at the Jellico Creek Baptist Church with Rev. Doyle Lester and Rev. Max Cox officiating.
Interment followed in the Jellico Creek Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers the family kindly requests that donation be made to the Jellico Creek Cemetery fund at 7065 West Hwy 92, Williamsburg, KY 40769.
