Report of suspicious individual leads to DUI arrest

 Whitley County constables, sheriff’s deputies, and state police were involved in the search for a Sadieville man in connection with multiple complaints of an individual knocking on doors and requesting to use the phone at homes on Barton Mill cutoff and Tattersall Wednesday.

According to Constable Ron “Bubba” Bowling, 40-year-old Jeremy Centers was charged with driving under the influence following a traffic stop initiated by Trooper Donnie Foley.

The incident began when officers and constables were called to the area in response to the initial complaints from residents on Barton Mill Cutoff.

While law enforcement attempted to locate the individuals, Bowling stated that an additional call came in from a resident in the Tattersall community.

Trooper Foley spotted a vehicle fleeing from Tattersall at a high rate of speed and initiated a pursuit on Fifth Street Road, initiating the traffic stop near the intersection with Cumberland Falls Hwy.

Bowling stated that the driver, later identified as Centers, showed indications that he was under the influence and failed a series of field sobriety tests.

Centers was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol/drugs and obstructed vision and/or windshield and lodged in the Whitley County Detention Center.

Deputies Kirk Mays and Tim Baker, Constables Bowling and Lonnie Foley responded the initial call.
