Redhound Theatre offering pictures with ‘Elf’ cast as fundraiser
The cast of Redhound Theatre is offering the opportunity to get up close with the “Elf” characters to help fund the organization’s trip to New York City to perform at the Intrepid Theatre.
In between performances Saturday and prior to the show on Dec. 9, visitors will have the opportunity to bring their children up on stage, which will be set for the scenes that take place at Macy’s Department Store.
Santa and the elves, including “Buddy,” and other cast members, will be in costume and will pose for pictures.
“For a $5 fee, you can take as many pictures as possible with a cell phone or whatever,” explained Redhound Theatre Director Rebecca Liford-Hibbard noting each person will have a limited amount of time in order to keep things moving.
Hibbard said the opportunity would be available between 3:30 and 5 p.m. Friday and 4-6 p.m. on Dec. 9.
Hibbard said Redhound Theatre, which has advanced to the Southeastern Theatre Conference in 2016 and 2017, had elected to search for other opportunities to perform on a larger stage.
“A travel company contacted us and asked if we would like to participate,” Hibbard said. “This gives us the best opportunity for our students.”
Hibbard said during the trip Redhound Theatre will be doing a variety of musical numbers from its spring show, “The Addams Family.”
Hibbard said the story in, “The Addams Family” is based on both the television show and the movies.
Wednesday Addams has returned home with news that she is getting married. How will the ghoulish family react when they learn that Wednesday’s fiancé is normal and Gomez and Morticia meet him and his parents?
The Addams Family will run April 19-21 and 26-28.
