Public’s help sought to help solve Jones Pit Stop burglary
The Whitley County Sheriff’s Department is asking for assistance from members of the Emlyn community to help solve an early Sunday morning crime.
The sheriff’s department is asking all members of the Emlyn community that have security cameras on their property to check them for suspicious activity Sunday between the hours of 3 – 3:40 a.m.
“We are particularly looking for evidence to a crime that occurred at Jones Pit Stop. If you have a neighbor that has cameras please ask them to follow up on this as well,” the sheriff’s department wrote in a release.
Anyone, who has suspicious activity on camera, is asked to contact the sheriff’s department at (606) 549-6017 or (606) 549-6006 and reference the case number, which is 23-118-0038.
Preliminary investigation indicates a suspect in dark clothes and a hood broke into the gas station and fled on foot into the Emlyn community. The suspect stole multiple items used in vape products.
Lt. Wayne Bird is the case officer.
