Police target 60 ‘deadbeat parents’ in Whitley County child support roundup
Over 30 officers across the region hit the streets late Monday evening looking for 60 parents, who were wanted for not paying their child support in Whitley County.
Williamsburg Public Affairs Officer Shawn Jackson said that about 75 percent of the suspects were in Whitley County, and that the remainder was spread out in surrounding counties, such as Knox, Laurel, McCreary and Campbell County, Tenn.
Williamsburg police and the Kentucky State Police began staging the operation about 8 p.m. Monday at the Williamsburg Tourism and Convention Center where the suspects were brought in for processing after they were arrested. Officers then hit the streets in mass about 10 p.m. looking for the suspects, who were wanted in most cases on flagrant non-support warrants or on contempt of court charges for failing to pay child support.
Corbin police and the Knox County Sheriff’s Department also assisted in rounding up suspects either in the northern end Whitley County or in Knox County.
After the suspects were processed at the tourism center, Whitley County Detention Center staff transported them to jail.

When you get child support it can be used on anything that benefits the child, If you use it to pay part of your rent or the bills it is still benefiting the child..however I dont agree with the parents that get child support and use it to go get their highlights redone and a manicure…my ex is $3,000 behind and I cant get anything done about it
This is an action that should go on everyday in every county of the commonwealth. However, the parent that is receiving the support should be required to show how the money is being spent.
Travel on to Arizon and pick up Rob Porter. He is over $10,000 behind. He owns his own business, two houses and a boat. And can’t even pay his child support.
Pleeeeeeeeeeeze, get Harold Reynolds he has never paid 1 cent to any of his children and he has them all over Kentucky. He is the biggest deadbeat ever!!! He lives in Corbin with a crack head that is as bad as he is she dont take care of her own kids.
I think it’s a good thing to see this begin done, and to see some women in there for child support WONDERFUL!!! I know this guy who was paying child support and if he got a dollar behind he was getting threatening letters in the mail talking about court action, now the tables are turned and his ex is “supposed” to be paying child support and she was four months behind before anything was done (and that took calling the child support enforcement every day!!)!!!
Why did they have to do it so late? They were shining lights all over the neighborhood and waking everyone up. I had to work today. They should think about people who need to get there sleep.
i hope they get them all
