Police searching for couple who stole Ipads from Corbin Walmart

A surveillance
The search is one for a man and woman who were caught on video stealing four iPads from the Corbin Walmart Thursday night.
According to Laurel County Sheriff John Root, the suspects came into the store about 6:30 p.m. and grabbed a shopping cart into which they piled their coats.
They went to the electronics area where they took the iPads from the display case.
"They went to the shoe section and pealed them out of the boxes, put them in the cart and covered them with the coats," said Deputy Gilbert Acciardo, the department’s Public Affairs Officer, adding the iPads are valued at approximately $3,000.
Video surveillance then shows the couple walking back to the front and out of the store where they got into a van and left.
Acciardo said the van is a full-sized custom model, maroon in color.
Acciardo added the couple is suspected to have been involved in other area crimes.
Anyone with information is asked to contact the sheriff’s department, (606) 864-6600.

I can’t buy a bag of potatos without getting stopped to show my reciept to get out the door. And these people walk out with I-pads? Really?
y weren’t they stopped by the loss prevention person before they got out of the parking lot? walmart should be ashamed. its their loss, i dont think their insurance should cover these ipads, since the couple was not stopped by loss prevention.
How did they get the case unlocked? Unless they convinced the electronics dept that they were going to pay for the Ipads in the front of the store instead of the elec dept it sounds like they had inside help to me. They can kiss their christmas goodbye, walmart is not forgiving and even prosecutes for the theft of a candy bar, no leiniency.
