Police search for suspect in Lily armed robbery
A southern Laurel County gas station and quick mart was robbed at knifepoint in the early-morning hours Monday, and police are actively searching for the man responsible for the crime.
According to Laurel County Sheriff’s Department Public Information Officer Gilbert Acciardo, the robbery happened at Smith’s
Midway Market (Liberty gas station) in Lily on U.S. 25. A man entered the store at about 2:06 a.m. and brandished a knife toward the female attendant. He then took an undisclosed amount of money from the cash register. A second attendant was away from the front of the store at the time of the robbery.
The man shoved the attendant to the floor and fled on foot.
Police say the suspect is described as male, heavy set and was wearing a cammo jacket.
Laurel County Sheriff’s Detective Sgt. Tommy Johnston is investigating the robbery. Assisting at the scene were Chief Deputy Eddy Sizemore, Deputy Kirk Mays, Deputy Brett Reeves, Kentucky State Police Trooper Sgt. Steve Walker and Trooper Michelle Lunsford.

What’s next? Home invasion’s? These dope head’s will do whatever it takes to get their dope. We do have a new Sheriff who is at least trying his best to put doper’s in prison. I support him and his deputies 110%. And if everyone watched each other’s houses and neighborhood’s it might deter these doper’s. So let’s all work together and with our local law enforcement. Together, we CAN make a difference. And hahaha Jimmie, i don’t think there is a reward!!

interesting how he got behind the counter with a “knife” before anyone could dial 911 from their cell phone! police, you need to look at it as an inside job!
