Police officer finds missing dog on I-75; reward donated to Trooper Island

Kentucky State Police Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Officer Randy Rader found "Monty," center in vehicle, a Doberman Pinscher who got loose in I-75 Sunday.
A Doberman Pinscher who got lose and ran away at the weigh station on Interstate 75 Sunday is back with his people and on his way to Louisville.
According to Kentucky State Police Division of Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Officer Steven Douglas, “Monty,” a 68-pound Doberman, was part of a group of animals that had been rescued in North Carolina and were being transported to an animal shelter in Louisville.
While stopping for a break at the weigh station, Monty got lose and ran away from Jeannie Mattison of Williamsburg, who was assisting with the transport.
Monty ran lose for several days with no food, no water and without the medicine he is required to take to live.
Douglas stated that vehicle enforcement officer Randy Rader found Monty Tuesday near the 33-mile marker on southbound I-75. Rader provide the dog with food, water and comfort until rescuers arrived.
A reward had been offer for Monty. Douglas said the reward money was given to vehicle enforcement to be donated to Trooper Island Camp for underprivileged children.
