Whitley County was blanketed in snow after winter weather dumped approximately seven inches of precipitation on the area Sunday evening. While snow totals varied throughout the county, schools, businesses and government offices closed Monday in honor of Martin Luther King Jr. Day and because of dangerous road conditions caused by the snowfall. Schools, several businesses, and government buildings remained closed on Tuesday.
