Parents claim woman had sex with juveniles
Parents of three Corbin juveniles are claiming a neighbor had sex with the boys over the weekend after providing them with booze and drugs.
Barbara Ann Bailiff, 41, faces two counts of first-degree rape and two counts of first-degree sodomy, and possession of marijuana following and investigation by local police into the allegations Monday evening.
Corbin police were called to Bailiff’s home at 314 16th Street at about 7:15 p.m. after receiving a complaint that she had given marijuana to some teen boys in the area. Officers Brandon White and Bill Rose responded to the call and discovered some marijuana in an ashtray in Bailiff’s kitchen. Corbin Police Capt. Tim Helton said the investigation into sexual charges came from interviews with the juveniles.
“Their statements were pretty much consistent with each other about what happened,” Helton said. “Based on that, the parents obtained arrest warrants.”
The warrants claim that on July 9, Bailiff performed oral sex and had intercourse with a 14-year-old boy and a 16-year-old boy, knowing that both had recently consumed some alcohol. A third warrant claims she performed oral sex on an eight-year-old boy.
Bailiff was arrested in the early-morning hours Tuesday without incident. Helton said she agreed to an interview with police, but would not divulge whether or not she admitted to any of the allegations.
“She said she knew the boys and that she is a resident in the area. She discussed the allegations, but I can’t say what she did and didn’t’ admit to.”
Helton said all the charges stem from a one-night period. He said all the boys are friends who live near Bailiff.
Bailiff was arraigned in Whitley District Court in Corbin Tuesday morning and pleaded not guilty to all the charges. Judge Dan Ballou set a $750,000 cash bond in the case.
