Otis Delano Reeves
Otis Delano Reeves, age 60, of Williamsburg, Kentucky departed this life on January 26, 2023 at Baptist Health in Lexington, Kentucky.
Otis was born on August 29, 1962 in Corbin, Kentucky to Otis Delmer Reeves and Mary Ruth (Mays) Reeves. He was preceded in death by his parents, Otis and Mary Ruth (Mays) Reeves and sister, Diane Moses.
Otis graduated from Whitley County High School, graduated from Cumberland College with a degree in Education, graduated from Union College with Masters and Rank 1.
He taught at Whitley Central Elementary, was principal at Nevisdale Elementary, and retired from Whitley East Elementary, being its first principal. An avid sports fan, supporting Whitley County Athletics, and being part of the 1981 District Champs team. Otis was a member of the Gatliff Freewill Baptist Church.
Otis was an officer in the United States Army.
Otis is survived by his wife of over 22 years, Connie Faye (Rickett) Reeves of Williamsburg, Kentucky; daughter, Stephanie Lynn Edmunds (Jim) of Crowley, Texas; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Rev. Kenneth Rickett and Vera Rickett of Williamsburg, Kentucky; brother, Kenneth Reeves (Joyce) of Williamsburg, Kentucky; sister-in-law, Paula Rickett (Terry Smith) of Williamsburg, Kentucky; brother-in-law’s, Kenneth Darrell Rickett (Carlene) of Clinton, Tennessee, James Eric Rickett (Amy) of Williamsburg, Kentucky; nephews, Shaun Rowe (Ashlee) of Shamong, New Jersey, John Rickett of Corbin, Kentucky, Jacob Rickett of Clinton, Tennessee, and Christopher Moses (fiancée Stacie Lawless) of Williamsburg, Kentucky; great-niece, Sutton James Rowe; and a host of other relatives and friends to mourn his passing.
Funeral service was on Monday, January 30, at Croley Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Rick Croley and Rev. Kenneth Rickett officiating.
He was laid to rest in the Croley Addition of Highland Park. Graveside Military Honors were conducted by the American Legion Post 88 in Corbin, Kentucky.
