Organizers of W’burg ‘Vote No’ effort a mystery
As a June 28 special election over a referendum to expand alcohol sales in Williamsburg nears, an organized opposition effort has been mounted.
Williamsburg Mayor Roddy Harrison submitted a petition on April 18 that contained 335 valid signatures in order to place a measure on the ballot that, if approved, would allow the sale of alcohol by the package in Williamsburg and reduce requirements restaurants must meet in order to serve alcohol. It is identical to what Corbin already has in place and what Barbourville and London residents approved earlier this year.
