Operation “Turning Up the Heat” not over, another subject found
Another subject that was sought during the Laurel County Sheriff’s Department’s “Operation: Turning Up the Heat” on June 1 has been taken in to custody as of early Wednesday morning.
James Egner, 43, of Dow Adkins Ln., London was found there at approximately 12:25 a.m. on Wednesday by Detective James Sizemore and Detective Jason Back. Egner was one of the 35 individuals being sought in the drug round up throughout Laurel County on drug trafficking and possession charges.
Egner was arrested and charged with two counts of first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance and persistent felony offender 1.
Also arrested on Dow Adkins Ln. was Wayne Colter, 57, who had a Whitley County bench warrant out for his arrest based on restitution owed regarding a third-degree charge of forgery.
Both were lodged in the Laurel County Detention Center.
According to their Facebook page, Laurel County Sheriff’s Department has arrested 27 of the 35 sought in the operation. Additional arrests are expected.
