One of Louisville’s most wanted apprehended in Corbin
Corbin Police arrested a man they say is one of Louisville’s most wanted.
According to Corbin Police Major Rob Jones, the department’s public affairs officer, police arrested James Hope, 45, of Fisherville, at a residence on Roy Kidd Ave. Thursday night.
According to the Louisville Metro Police website, Hope is wanted on multiple drug-related offenses including trafficking in cocaine and marijuana.
In addition, Hope has outstanding warrants in Georgia for charges of forgery and giving police a false name. He also has outstanding warrants in Indiana on charges of failure to appear and intimidating a witness.
Jones said police received an anonymous tip advising them that Hope was wanted in Louisville and that he could be found at the residence.
Officers went to the residence about 10:20 p.m. and spoke with Casper Burkhart. As police tried to enter the residence, Hope reportedly fled the scene on foot, running several blocks and then trying to hide under a tarp at a nearby apartment complex.
After a short altercation with police, Hope was taken into custody. In addition to the outstanding warrants, Hope was charged with second-degree fleeing or evading police, third-degree criminal mischief and resisting arrest and lodged in the Knox County Detention Center.
Jones said Burkhart, 50, and another individual at the residence, Matthew Fore, 34, were each arrested on one count of hindering prosecution or apprehension for allegedly lying to police about Hope being in the residence and trying to help him hide from police.
They were also lodged in the Whitley County Detention Center.
Officer Jeff Hill is continuing the investigation. Officers Kenneth Proffitt, John Dean and Arron Peace assisted at the scene.
