News Journal delivering up-to-the-minute news on our new website
News reported when it happens. Not tomorrow, the next day or next week…but now. That’s what the News Journal is delivering to you on its new Web Site at www.thenewsjournal.net
This week our reporters had breaking news with pictures on our Web Site moments after covering the news events. Those stories and many more will appear in detail in the weekly edition of our newspaper. Also, those subscribing to our E-edition can view the entire contents of this newspaper.
With the realization that more and more people are relying on the Internet as their news source, we’ve dedicated our resources to provide up to the minute coverage of news and sports through this means.
In addition to stories and pictures we will provide video of many events taking place locally.
The newspaper terms daily and weekly are being replaced by instantly. Soon our subscribers can be notified through e-alerts when news is breaking.
All of these innovations will not replace our hard copy of the newspaper. The local community weekly is not suffering the fate of many of the dailies you have been reading about and it is not likely to in the future.
While many people rely on television for national and state news community journalism is alive and well. Television stations never have and never will cover the many happenings in our community.
While you may see a story or two on TV news, you won’t see the statistics, obituaries, wedding announcements, local advertising and the many other items that make up a weekly newspaper.
The combination of our weekly newspaper and our Internet Site is ideal for our communities.
One of the greatest benefits associated with out Internet Site is being felt by the hundreds of out of state subscribers we have.
Instead of waiting days, even weeks for the newspaper to arrive, these people can have it as quickly as those of you locally by subscribing to the E-edition of the paper.
To say I’m excited about what is happening here is an understatement. We’re giving our subscribers no reason to take any other newspaper. Add the quality of reporting we have to the instant delivery of the news and the few cents it costs is your best buy.
I’m just as excited about our ability to deliver our Homes Guide real estate book to you via the Internet.
It is there in its entirety. If you live in some distant state and plan on moving to this area you can see the available listings at www.thenewsjournal.net.
Those of you locally can choose to pick up a copy of the book or view it on the Internet. Either way you will see all the listings of the leading real estate agencies in this area.
Tomorrow is here today. Just like this newspaper being the first in the area to offer full color pictures, we are leading the way in the computer age. Trent Knuckles is also excited. Look below.
