My first time

Hello and welcome. For those who don’t know me, let me introduce myself. My name is Chris Parsons and I am a reporter at the News Journal in Corbin, KY. I have been at this paper for six months, but I have been in the journalism business for 3 1/2 years now.
First of all, I would like to welcome everyone to what will soon be the new Web site for the News Journal and I would also like to say how excited we are about what we are going to be able to offer our customers. As someone who has never written a blog before, I have to say I am a little bit nervous about the situation, but I will do my best.
My situation is a little different than some reporters in the fact that I dabble in both news and sports, therefore my blog will be a little bit different (hopefully in a good way) than everyone else’s. In other words, there is no telling what you will read when you log on from day to day. I may write about world hunger one day and my beloved Chicago Cubs the next. Tuesday I may rant about a crazy thing that may have happened on the way to work, and Thursday I might fill you in on the three-car accident the night before.
Either way, we are really happy to be able to share with you some thoughts and events that may not always make the paper. We encourage comments and discussion on anything we write, so feel free to agree or disagree with anything.
