Murder and Merriment presenting interactive murder mystery party at Cumberland Falls
Do you enjoy diving into a good murder mystery? If so, then you will definitely want to mark Feb. 9-10 on your calendar, and make plans to celebrate Valentine’s season by attending an interactive murder mystery event called “A Fragile Heart” at the Cumberland Falls State Resort Park.
George R. Snider III is the owner and creator of Murder and Merriment, which is the name of the Lexington-based mystery theatre group that will be presenting “A Fragile Heart” at the Cumberland Falls lodge. With 14 years in the business, Snider and company have grown into the second largest theatre company of its kind in the eastern United States. Currently, the group has over 60 different mysteries that they present.
“This story is set in 1955,” Snider said of the upcoming production at the Falls. “Joanna and Skip are celebrating their tenth wedding anniversary, and have invited three other couples to join them. The men all served together in the 5th Bombardment Squadron in the Pacific. The evening’s festivities collapse into mayhem when someone is murdered and Detective Jerry Mason takes it upon himself to solve the murder mystery.”
Snider plays the role of a former WWII Army Air Corps pilot named Dutch Walker in “A Fragile Heart.”
When asked to explain the interactive elements of the production, Snider said, “The performers in the mystery all interact amongst each other, as well as with the guests. The audience in this production will be ‘friends’ at Joanna and Skip Hart’s wedding anniversary party. The guests are permitted to be as interactive as they feel comfortable being.”
Attending the murder mystery party is just one aspect of the overall experience that is being offered Feb. 9-10 at Cumberland Falls. For $130 plus tax, you can attend the show, get one night at the lodge in a single occupancy room, and eat breakfast the following day. The cost is $155 for a double occupancy room.
