Muldoon selected to be keynote speaker for Tuesday (Oct. 11) chamber luncheon

Lena Muldoon, executive director of You Decide, Kentucky?, will be the keynote speaker during the Southern Kentucky Chamber of Commerce monthly membership luncheon next week.

The luncheon will be held starting at 11:45 a.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 11, at The Corbin Center, which is located at 222 Corbin Center Drive.

You Decide, Kentucky!, which is a 501(c)3 organization, is a statewide initiative focused on engaging, educating, and galvanizing people and organizations across the Commonwealth to achieve a shared goal: empowering local governments and citizens to decide what revenue streams will improve the quality of life in their communities, according to the group’s website.

Doing that requires modernizing the outdated and complex tax code of the Kentucky Constitution, giving authority to the General Assembly to enable revenue-raising options at the county and municipal level, the website reads.

Southeast Kentucky Rehabilitation Industries is sponsoring the luncheon.

Old Town Grill will be providing catering.

There is a $14 charge for the luncheon.
