Mother, two others charged for making meth while child in home

A 23-month-old child was taken into protective custody Wednesday afternoon and two people were arrested on meth manufacturing chargers after Laurel County Sheriff Fred Yaden found it in a home along a number of components commonly used in making meth.

According to Sheriff Yaden, he along with several of his deputies and Albert Hale with the Laurel County Division of Public Safety went to a home on Byble Road in the Fariston community in response to a complaint of a meth manufacturing operation.

Inside the home, Yaden said deputies found part of the lab along with ammonia nitrate, lithium batteries, coffee filters and acids.
Joseph Derek Neace, 26 and Donna S. Embre, 39 were each charged with one count of manufacturing methamphetamine and lodged in the Laurel County Detention Center.

The child’s mother, who was later identified as Keshia Booth, 19, of London, was charged with endangering the welfare of a minor.
Deputy Jason Back said she was not arrested, but cited to appear in Laurel District Court.
