Molly Prakash awarded Kay Campbell Nursing Scholarship
Grace Health has awarded the 2023 Kay Campbell Nursing Scholarship to Molly Prakash of Williamsburg.
Prakash, who is the daughter of Stacey Prakash and the late Gopal Prakash, received a $3,000 scholarship award for her nursing career studies, which she will begin pursuing in August following her graduation from Whitley County High School earlier this year.
Grace Health awards the Kay Campbell Nursing Scholarship to a student in each of its six service areas in Southeastern Kentucky. The scholarships are awarded to graduating seniors pursuing a career in nursing or a medical-related field.
The students are chosen on a competitive basis of high scholarship, community service and leadership, and promise of future contributions, preferably to the nursing profession.
Prakash was an honor student and was active in HOSA, Beta Club, DECA, and her church during high school. She also participated in many civic and community events.
She chose nursing as a career path because of her desire to provide quality healthcare to the whole person – physically, emotionally, and mentally. Prakash will attend the University of the Cumberlands this fall. She plans to become a neonatal or labor and delivery nurse.
Grace Health was established in 2008 in Knox County, as a primary healthcare provider and recognized as a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC).
