Michael W. Smith, Darci Lynne coming to The Corbin Arena Dec. 18
Corbin residents will be getting an early special Christmas treat this December thanks to renowned Christian music artist Michael W. Smith.
Smith is coming to The Corbin Arena on Dec. 18 along with America’s Got Talent winner Darci Lynne for “A Very Special Christmas.”
Tickets went on sale Monday for the show at The Corbin Arena Box Office and online at ticketmaster.com.

The concert will take place at 7 p.m. on Dec. 18, and doors will open at 6 p.m.
Michael W. Smith is a multi-platinum artist having sold more than 15 million albums. He has won three Grammy Awards, 45 Dove Awards, and an American Music Award.
In 1999, the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers (ASCAP) awarded Smith with the “Golden Note” Award for lifetime achievement in songwriting, and in 2014 honored him as the “cornerstone of Christian music” for his significant influence on the genre. His biggest mainstream music hit came in 1991 when “Place in This World” reached number six on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, according to Wikipedia.
He has also recorded 31 number one songs, 14 gold albums and five platinum albums. In addition, he has starred in two films and published 14 books, according to Wikipedia.
Smith has also given back to the global community having raised funds to battle AIDS in Africa alongside longtime friend Bono, started Rocketown, a safe haven for young people in Tennessee to meet and find hope, and has helped more than 70,000 children’s lives through Compassion International, according to his website.
Lynne is an American ventriloquist and singer, who won the 12th season of American’s Got Talent in 2017. She is the youngest contestant to have ever won the competition.
