Michael Carl Hudson, 67 years old, passed away from cancer on December 6, 2022, after a brief stay at Hillcrest Health and Rehabilitation Center. He was born on November 5, 1955, in Denver, Colorado.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Mary Lou Hudson, and a brother Russell Wayne Hudson.
He is survived by two children, Tara Nicole Engle (Brian) and Jarred Michael Storms (Hillary); grandchildren, Kennedy, Maddux, Harper, Lillian and Brady; four siblings, Bill Hudson, Michelle “Mickie” Bennett (Gordon), Terry Hudson and Carrie Hudson; as well as several nieces, nephews, uncles and cousins.
Mike grew up and lived in Corbin, Ky, most of his life. He was a very talented person athletically and musically. Recently, he was inducted into the 2022 Whitley County High School Athletic Hall of Fame for his basketball talent with high scoring and rebounding statistics while in high school. He was inducted into the 2019 WCHS Athletic Hall of Fame with his 1973/74 basketball team. He was very proud of these awards.
Mike loved to sing and play the guitar. A few cherished memories was singing twice on the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville TN. Mike had a great sense of humor and could mimic “Donald Duck” for lots of laughs. He loved going fishing to think and ponder and was known to catch some large fish! He was also a big brother to five siblings. At times he had big responsibilities to watch over and protect us, which he did to the best of his abilities.
While we will miss our brother, we know that he knows his Savior and Redeemer, Jesus Christ, and that brings us peace.
The funeral will take place Friday, December 9, with a viewing 10:00 am -11:30 am, and service beginning at 11:30 am at the Cornerstone Christian Church, 4480 Fifth Street Rd, Corbin, Ky. Graveside will be held at Moore Cemetery on Frankfort School Rd, Corbin, KY.
