Men arrested near Corbin for hauling meth components

Failing to wear their seat belts Tuesday led to the arrsts of two men in southern Laurel County.

KSP Trooper Mike King stopped a car Tuesday evening on American Greeting Card  Rd. after observing the driver and passenger not buckled up.

Upon approaching the car, Trp. King said he smelled a strong odor of burned marijuana. While searching the vehicle, Tpr. King discovered all the components of a meth lab and some finished product.

The driver 30 year old Roger D. Brown of Gray and passenger 36 year old David E. Moore of Corbin were charged with unlawful possession of meth precursors and failure to wear a seat belt. Moore was also charged with possession of marijuana and drug paraphenaila.

Brown was also charged with several traffic violations. Both were lodged in the Laurel County Detention Centsr.
Tpr. King said the meth components were not assembled and not working, however he did request officials with the dept. of public safety dispose of the materials.
