Long time boys basketball assistant coach Jason McDaniel will make the move to the girls this fall after being named the Lady Redhounds Basketball Coach Thursday at Corbin High School.
McDaniel will succeed Jennifer Parsons, who stepped down after guiding Corbin to the 2013 State Basketball Tournament, to become Principal at Corbin Middle School.
Corbin High School Site Based Decision Making Council announced in a Press Conference that Jason McDaniel, a teacher and assistant boys basketball coach at Corbin High School of his new position.
McDaniel brings 12 years coaching experience to the Lady Redhounds, as well as playing experience from four years at Corbin High School and four years at the University of the Cumberlands.
“I’m elated to be named the new head coach,” McDaniel said. “I’m excited to be coaching girls in a program that has such high expectations and expects success.”
McDaniel has been teaching Health & PE in the Corbin School System for 12 years, where he has also been an assistant coach for the boys program.
“I feel that Coach McDaniel will be a great leader for this team,” Parsons said. “He has experience, knowledge and passion for the game.”
