Maxine Lloyd Mitchell
Maxine Lloyd Mitchell, 95, formerly of Corbin, passed away on Thursday May 9, 2019 peacefully at her home in Georgetown, KY.
She was born on July 6, 1923 in Stanford, KY to the late Eubert and Minnie Lewis.
She was retired from Belks Department Store and was a long time member of Central Baptist Church. In addition, she enjoyed going to Sunday School at Immanuel Baptist Church and attended Southland Christian Church after moving to Georgetown.
In addition to her parents, Maxine was preceded in death by her husbands, Donald Alden Lloyd and James N. Mitchell; daughters, Saundra Storm and Patsy Webb; best friend, Dot King; granddaughter, Amy Curry; great great grandson, Carter Curry; brothers, Ralph and Harold Lewis; and sisters, Ruby Howard, Bobby Pierce, and Monte Wilson.
Maxine is survived by her daughter, Suzanne (Mike) Hamm; son, Donnie (Carolyn) Lloyd; son-in-laws, Harry Storm and Charles Webb; host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren and by several nieces, nephews, family, and friends including best friend Violet James.
The funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. on Saturday, May 18, at the Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home, 607 Master St, Corbin with Rev. Tom Smith and Rev. Larry Craig officiating.
Burial will follow in Corinth Cemetery in Corbin.
Visitation will be from 1-3 p.m. on Saturday May 18th at the Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home, where messages may be written to the family at vankirkgrisellfuneralhome.com.
