Corbin Police are seeking to question the driver of a black pickup truck about an armed robbery at Valley View Apartments Wednesday morning.
Corbin Police Det. William Rose said about 9:44 a masked gunman robbed a man and a woman as they were exiting their vehicle.
"They said a man in a black ski mask put a semi-automatic handgun to the male’s head and demanded his wallet," Rose said. "He then took the woman’s purse and told them to get back in their vehicle and don’t look or he would kill them."
Rose said the robber, described as 5’8", 140-160 pounds and wearing brown work coveralls, ran behind the apartments. Police tracked the robber to an empty lot where tire tracks indicated a vehicle had left the scene and traveled toward Interstate 75.
Soon after the robbery took place, Rose said Corbin Police received several complaints of a small black pickup truck with a University of Kentucky plate on the front bumper running serveral people off the road on 5th Street toward I-75.
Rose said the victims were not injured. The robber got away with about $50 from the woman’s purse, but the male reported there was no money in his wallet.
Anyone with information about the truck is asked to contact Corbin Police at 528-1122.
