Marine Myers Collision Center carrying on legacy of superior customer service

As the county celebrates its 200th anniversary in 2018, Marine Myers is celebrating another year of servicing our area’s automotive needs.

Folks familiar with our area will likely remember the Marine Myers Ford car dealership from years ago. It was there, before the dealership moved and changed its name, that current Marine Myers Collision Center owner David Mills began work as a “body man” back in the early nineties.

“Things are more computerized now than what they used to be,” Mills said when asked to compare working on vehicles now versus back then. “The cars are more technologically advanced too. We’ve tried to keep up with the times as much as possible, though.”

When the Marine Myers dealership moved, the body shop relocated to its current location on 18th Street in Corbin. They kept the name, and the history that goes along with it. When asked what it means to him to be carrying on that legacy, Mills said, “To me, it means that I need to stand by the work that I do. We’ll be here to make it right if something does go wrong, but we’ve been here a long time, so we try our very best to do things right.”

Marine Myers Collision Center serves drivers in need of auto body repairs from all over the tri-counties, and even some from as far away as Lexington or Knoxville. “A lot of people have had repairs done here in the past,” Mills said. “So even if they leave the area, they will still come back to us because they know the name.”

As for the future, Mills hopes to one day open up a separate location to better assist his many customers. For now, though, he says that he and his employees simply want to do the best job possible on each vehicle that comes through the shop – whether that be for minor repairs such as scrapes and dings, or big jobs like replacing whole sections and applying new paint.
