Marian Elizabeth Colette
Marian Elizabeth Colette, 76, of Red Witt Road in Emlyn, Kentucky, departed this life surrounded by her family on Saturday November 19, 2022, at Baptist Health in Corbin, Kentucky.
She was born to the late Frank Colette and Grace (Hoffert) Colette on May 17, 1946, in Chicago, Illinois. Along with her parents, Marian is preceded in death by her brother-in-law Reed Ano.
She is survived by her husband of over 43 years, Dal Macon of Emlyn, Kentucky; one daughter, Sarah Lawson and husband, Bob, of Henderson, Kentucky; one son, Adam Colette and wife, Marisol, of Ashville, North Carolina; four grandchildren, Grace Lawson, Ruth Lawson, James Lawson, and Neo Colette; three sisters, Carol Schwenn and husband Chuck of Albuquerque, New Mexico, Janet Woods and husband Dave of Antioch, Illinois, and Fran Ano of Antioch Illinois; one brother, Frank Colette and wife Melody of Antioch, Illinois; several nieces, nephews and a host of other family and friends to mourn her passing.
Marian served as a School Sister of St. Francis thru her 20s and a devoted member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Williamsburg, Kentucky. She was founder and director of Whitley County Communities for Children, Regional Director of Save the Children, and taught GED. She was a pioneer in our community as a teacher, community leader, and advocate for Whitley County and the town of Williamsburg.
Funeral Mass was Wednesday, November 23, at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Williamsburg, Kentucky with Father Prashanth Lobo officiating.
A private burial was held at Colette-Macon Family Cemetery.
