Man who led Corbin police on chase surrenders to Knox authorities

A man local police were looking for after a vehicle pursuit and foot chase last week has surrendered to authorities after days on the run.

Twenty-nine-year-old Andrew Hall turned himself in to Knox County Sheriff’s Deputy Roy Gambrell just before noon on Friday. He was driving a pickup truck in Corbin last Tuesday when police attempted to pull him over on Beatty Ave. for various traffic offenses. He refused to stop, leading police on a four-mile chase, which ended when the do got out of the pickup on Kennedy Ave. and tried to flee on foot.

Corbin Police took Sylvia Garland into custody Tuesday on charges stemming the car and foot pursuit, but Hall eluded authorities. Garland was taken into custody in a field following a short foot pursuit.

Hall is facing charges of fleeing or evading police, three counts of wanton endangerment, reckless driving, driving on  SUI suspended license and failure to wear seatbelts.
